We are a small private practice part of Collins Medical Associates 2 located in the Elmwood neighborhood in West Hartford. We strive to provide quality care for our patients and families. We accept Husky, Tricare and most commercial insurances and are accepting new patients. Call us today for an appointment.

Our Story

Our pediatric practice was started in 1983 by Dr. Chitra Ramanan who was one of the founding members of Collins Medical Associates, a group of like-minded primary care physicians focused on providing excellent care to patients. Over the years, the practice has slowly grown and changed from a solo practice to now a three provider office lead by Dr. Ishrat Quadri. We pride ourselves in being a Patient Centered Medical Home, which helps us to provide safe, high-quality, affordable, and accessible patient-centered care. Our patients have been coming to this practice for generations and love seeing patients now bringing in their children (or even grandchildren).

Meet The Team

Ishrat Quadri, MD

Physician

Dr. Quadri attended Columbia University School of General Studies. She then worked 2 years teaching high school physics and chemistry at a school for special needs. She then attended Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed pediatric residency at Connecticut Children's Medical Center. She started working with Collins Medical Associates in 2000. Her special interest are childhood obesity, migraines, developmental disorders, depression, anxiety and ADHD. In her free time, she likes to travel, spend time with her family, garden and read.

Persis Thomas, MD, IBCLC

Physician and Lactation Consultant

Dr. Thomas completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut and medical school at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She then went on to do her pediatric residency at Hasbro Children's Hospital/Brown University. Dr. Thomas joined Collins Medical Associates in 2022. Dr. Thomas has a special interest in newborn and breastfeeding medicine and has completed additional training to be a lactation consultant. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, hike and cook.

Semone Roach, APRN, FNP

Nurse Practitioner

Semone graduated from the University of Saint Joseph with a degree in Family Nurse Practitioner. She has been with the practice since 2011. She loves interacting with the children and their families and watching them grow throughout the years.
